First grade is learning about Ancient Art. They read an article about cave drawings and discussed how they couldn't just take pictures of people and animals. Students were to pair up and made a circle map of different people or animals they might have drawn on cave walls thousands of years ago. Then they each made their own cave drawings on crumpled up brown paper bags to show how they might have looked back then
Do you have an interest in playing, learning how to, or helping others learn about the amazing game of chess? Are you a good sport who knows how to win AND lose gracefully? Are you in grades 5-8? Then, you are invited to join the Havasu Preparatory Academy Chess Club.
The club will meet on Mondays beginning on October 15th. All club meetings will conclude at 4:15 and students must be picked up by 4:20. Space is limited.
Please see Ms. Davies for more information.
A great big thank you to Grace, Jasmine, Angelina, Mr. Harrison, Mrs. Gates, and Mrs. Mills for showing your support and bringing awareness for the #YouMatter walk on Saturday.
You Matter is a movement to spread the word that your problems, your worries, your fears, and above all you—unique and real you—matter. And because just about everyone—at some point—hits the wall, we’re here to help.
If you need support, call 1-800-273-8255 or chat with the Lifeline.
Dr. Scott McIntyre visited from ASU Havasu to talk to our 7th and 8th grade class about the benefits of our local ASU campus. He also talked to the students about psychology, how to solve problems by properly designing environments, and personality types.
