Last week students enjoyed showing their college spirit on Wednesday and wearing red or pink for Valentine's Day. Ms. Norman's class even had a Valentine's STEM craft. Teachers and staff arrived at school with a heart in their mailbox. They were challenged to find the other part to their famous couple. Laughter and giggles spread though the school as they looked for their match. Happy Valentine's Day from HPA! Last Thursday, the third and fourth graders at HPA had an opportunity to participate in Safety Town, a miniature town full of highly interactive activities related to safety. This 3-D town has lifesaving lesson such as drowning prevention, gun safety, poison, fire, distracted driving, anti-bullying, and so much more. Thank you to Banner Health and The Lake Havasu Fire Department for showing us how to be safe. Friday, teachers and staff had the opportunity to participate in the Stop the Bleed Training. Thanks to generous donations from our community each classroom now has a Bleed Control Kit. Thank you to Danielle Stello for the great hands on training.
Students, parents, and teachers had fun Thursday night playing games at school. Laughter was heard down the hallways as students challenged each other, their parents, and their teachers. Parents also had an opportunity to learn more about our college readiness program, AVID, and were given an opportunity to re-register their students for next year. Thank you everyone for making this a fun night for all. |
