On Thursday, January 23rd, students may wear hats to school for our "Hats off for Cancer" fundraiser. Students are asked to bring in a donation for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If students choose to participate they may wear a hat to school and have free dress.
You may send money in with your student or donate directly online at: https://events.lls.org/pages/az/Havasu-Preparatory-Academy-2020/ Enrollment for the 20-21 school year has begun! Havasu Preparatory Academy is excited to participate in National School Choice Week, which will be held from January 26 - February 1, 2020. National School Choice Week is the world’s largest annual celebration of opportunity in K-12 education. The week provides an opportunity for families to search for schools and learning environments for their children, and a chance for schools like ours to celebrate our many successes. We look forward to wearing our NSCW yellow fleece scarves and telling the Havasu Preparatory Academy story during the week, and we hope you will join us in celebrating! Please go to our calendar to see what we will be doing each day.
We can all remember a teacher who profoundly impacted our lives - a teacher who has gone above and beyond in their classroom to make a difference. This is why the Silver Apple Award was created over 20 years ago. Each year, 8 Arizona teachers are hand-picked by a panel of judges from letters submitted by students across the Valley. Students share their stories of deserving teachers who inspire, and I want to invite you to nominate our outstanding teachers at Havasu Preparatory Academy! If chosen, the winning teacher will receive a $1,000 check, a Silver Apple Award and a featured story to air during two 3TV newscasts. Attached is the Silver Apple Award Nomination form and contest rules. To submit a nomination, students must write in 100 words or less, "Why this teacher is special". Finished nominations must then be faxed to (602) 207-3545 or mailed to: Silver Apple Award 5555 North 7th Avenue Phoenix, Arizona 85013 You will need to bring the completed application in to the office for Mrs. Mills to sign. Submissions are due prior to March 5, 2020. ![]()
